The EQB Backup Switch is a universal plug and play MID in a meter socket adapter,
installed behind a facility's utility meter by qualified technicians for easy whole home backup, enabling
seamless transfer to backup from grid interactive sources like Solar, Batteries, EVs, & other DERs, all while
passively cooling the utility smart meter and socket without the need for fans.
Currently approved by PG&E, SDG&E, & SCE after rigorous and extensive testing over a 2 year long process. The EQB fast tracks installation thanks to accelerated interconnection approvals within 10 days for up to 12 million CA utility customers. EQB provides increased ROI opportunities with participation in utility programs including OADR, VPP, DERMS, Grid management, Duck Curve Mitigation, Electrification and more. EQB features optional “California Tie In” Panel Expansion lugs for up to an additional 100A/24kW continuous of DERs. This capability allows for AC Coupling of new or existing NEM PV to BESS & 1:1 backup power for 200A or smaller service panels eliminating the need for a service panel upgrade. Factory installed PCS compatible CT's are inside of the adapter for easy and accurate current flow measurements at the utility entrance.
